Talks written for
your audience.
Keynotes, workshops and conference talks on AI literacy, ethics in education, and digital research skills for Australian schools. I shape each one around what you want your audience to take away.
"AI as a Learner's Apprentice: Building a Culture of Inquiry." ISQ Teaching & Learning Showcase.
Catching up with teachers between sessions.
AI as a Learner's Apprentice.
Building a culture of inquiry inside a school using AI.
How a school can turn AI from a shortcut into an apprentice for student thinking. The frameworks, the classroom practice, and the design choices that put inquiry back at the centre of how students work with the tools.
Delivered at the Independent Schools Queensland Teaching & Learning Showcase.
Topics I speak on.
I'll shape the talk around what you want your audience to take away.
AI literacy in schools
How to teach students to think with AI rather than through it. Built around the VERIFY and Reality Audit frameworks.
AI ethics in education
Moving past academic integrity worries to what ethical AI use looks like day to day for students and teachers.
Research and digital literacy in the AI age
Teaching students to find, evaluate, and use information when generative AI sits between them and every source.
Building edtech from inside a school
How I replaced the school's old research platform, and what changes when the person building it works alongside the students who use it.
Workshops and events.
Not everything happens on a stage. A lot of the work is in classrooms and at events like this one.
First global site of the Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon, co-hosted by Peregian Digital Hub and St Andrew’s Anglican College. Nine students aged 9 to 13 built their own websites, apps, and games in four hours using AI-assisted creation tools.
Co-led with Larry Hay, in partnership with the Peregian Digital Hub.
Students turning hand-drawn idea sheets into working prototypes on an iPad.
I would like to thank Sandra Robinson and Larry Hay for their leadership and for embracing opportunities to deepen their professional understanding of how these emerging tools can extend student learning across the College.
Choose the format that suits your event.
Conference main stage
Conference main stage, 25 to 45 minutes, built around one clear idea the audience can take away.
Hands-on sessions
Half or full day, hands-on. Teachers leave with something they can use in class the following week.
Conference and event panels
Conference and event panels. Happy to offer a different view when it's useful.
Guest appearances
Guest appearances for longer conversations about AI in education.
I also run in-school workshops and staff PD on AI literacy. Get in touch to arrange one.
